David has over $10 billion of transaction experience in real estate private equity in a principal capacity, including: public-to-private REIT acquisitions, preferred equity recapitalizations, mezzanine debt purchases, and large portfolio loan restructurings. Prior to founding TRX Capital in 2020, David was the Chief Investment Officer of Atlas Real Estate Partners, a real estate private equity firm headquartered in New York, NY where he focused on value-add investments across property types, throughout the U.S. Prior to Atlas, David was Vice President of Acquisitions at Beacon Capital Partners, a real estate investment firm headquartered in Boston, MA where he focused on value-add acquisitions, portfolio management, and was a member of the company’s Debt Committee. David co-authored “Mezzanine Finance and Preferred Equity Investment in Commercial Real Estate: Security, Collateral, & Control” (published in 2012) and has taught real estate valuation methodologies at MBA programs, investment banks, and law firms. David received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tufts University (2003) and completed coursework in accounting, finance, and technology at Harvard and MIT.
Aubrey was previously a Managing Director at CrowdStreet, a real estate investment platform, where he oversaw the Southeast U.S. and was responsible for sourcing equity and debt opportunities, as well as managing ongoing relationships with some of the leading CRE developers, owners and operators across the country. Prior to CrowdStreet, Aubrey was Head of Real Estate at Sonder Inc., a technology driven hospitality company with over $8b+ in leases under management across 32 cities globally, totaling over 10,000 units. Prior to Sonder, Aubrey was Director of Business Development and Investor Relations at Atlas Real Estate Partners where he focused on investor reporting and capital raising for new acquisitions and developments. Earlier in his career, Aubrey was a Real Estate Acquisitions Analyst for Boston Capital, one of the largest owners of multifamily properties in the U.S., and had started his career as in leasing as a tenant rep in New York, NY at Trammel Crowe. Aubrey received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Tufts University in 2004 and in his free time enjoys playing rugby. Prior to Tufts, Aubrey attended Harrow School in London, England.
